OUR LONG TERM INVESTMENTS
Despite the complexity of the economic and political context and the very high uncertainties of recent years, we reaffirm our absolute confidence in our business. The significant investment plan we implemented in 2025 is a clear demonstration of this and we want to share it with our partners, clients, and suppliers to reinforce the leading role we aim to play in European manufacturing.
The project is structured around four main initiatives:
- Replacement of the scrubber filter in the core-shop;
- Renovation of the historic foundry roof;
- Installation of new photovoltaic systems;
- Installation of a BESS energy storage system.

SCRUBBER FILTER
The scrubber filter is responsible for extracting and treating amines in the core-shop department. Although the previous system still operated well within the regulatory limits, we decided to replace it after 30 years of dedicated service with a new 6,000 nmc/h unit, equipped with an IE4 motor with inverter and a chemical washing system with continuous pH monitoring. This upgrade provides significant improvements in working conditions for operators, environmental performance and energy efficiency, with an estimated 40% savings, enabling compliance with Industry 5.0 standards.

ROOF RENOVATION
The roof renovation fully reflects the company’s long-term vision, supported by constant risk assessment and mitigation practices inspired by ISO 31000.
In recent years, the intensity and frequency of rainfall have increased significantly, often straining the rainwater collection and drainage system, with a growing risk of leaks or minor flooding. This risk required direct action to drastically limit its impact, safeguard processes and products, and reduce insurance costs.
Safety is always a priority; therefore, we installed guardrails and safety nets over the skylights to secure pedestrian paths.
This was not only a protective intervention but also a forward-looking one: after 52 years of activity in the current foundry facility, this extraordinary maintenance ensures another fifty-year perspective for the building!

PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM
Our corporate vision and policy are driven by sustainability and environmental impact: we aspire to an increasingly greener and energy-independent foundry. This transition is also key to a progressive reduction in energy costs, reinforcing our long-term strategic competitiveness. With this in mind, we are committed to continuously increasing the share of renewable energy in our power mix. As of 2025, we have reached a major milestone by covering the entirety of our facility’s roof surfaces with photovoltaic systems, achieving a total power capacity exceeding 2 MW, using European-made bifacial panels. Specifically:
- Revamping of the iconic FV1 photovoltaic system (2007): Over 17 years, it produced more than 1,750 MWh. Although it had many years of residual life, we chose to decommission and dispose of it in compliance with current environmental regulations. By replacing the original panels and inverters with latest-generation modules, we have nearly doubled the power output per square meter.
- Installation of a new FV5 photovoltaic system (766 kW), that brings our roof coverage in the foundry to full capacity.
- Installation of a new FV6 photovoltaic system (90 kW): completing the roof coverage of the mechanical workshop.

BESS – ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM
The last, and most innovative and potentially profitable, part of the investment plan is the installation of a 1.72 MW / 3.44 MWh electrochemical BESS (Battery Energy Storage System). This battery intelligently manages energy by reducing imbalances from photovoltaic production, optimizing self-consumption, and lowering peak loads to reduce energy costs on one hand; and providing services to the national electricity grid on the other hand, positioning us not only as a consumer but also as a prosumer – an active producer and participant in the energy market.
